Re: Sleep Practice Full – No Longer Accepting New Sleep Therapy Patients
TrueNorth is no longer accepting new sleep therapy patients, including referrals for sleep diagnostics (Level IIIs), until further notice. Access to services for existing sleep therapy clients and home oxygen will not be affected.
Patients waiting for Level IIIs could be referred for a Polysomnogram as the capacity for publicly-funded services remains stable at this time, and those waiting for sleep therapy initiation could be considered for referral to another qualified care provider.

IMPORTANT HEALTH CANADA UPDATE
Health Canada Update: Type 1 Recall
As of today, Health Canada have moved the Philips Respironics recall to a Type 1 Recall. As per Health Canada the definition of a Type 1 Recall is:
Type 1: A situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.
At this time, there have been no changes to the recommendations on the continued use of the recalled devices. We are asking all clients with recalled devices to follow up with their physicians for further recommendations on the continued use of their recalled devices, until Philips is able to repair or replace them.
As the recall has been moved to a Type 1 Recall, Health Canada requires TrueNorth Respiratory to ensure each unit owner has been contacted. Please have any patients inquiring about the recall contact our office to confirm their receipt of the recall letter or email.
